Because the road to . . .

Clever, cool and preternaturally lethal, Max Savoie is leader of a secretive shape-shifter clan, heir to a mobster’s legacy, and the love of New Orleans’ top cop . . . but he can’t remember any of them. The only way to recover his past, and his rightful place in the arms of the woman who risked all to save him, is to surrender to a mysterious visitor who could use him as a weapon against all he’d loved.

Happily-Ever-After . . .

After rescuing her mate from his ruthless captors in the North, hard-hitting Detective Charlotte Caissie is now painfully vulnerable—a stranger in his eyes . . . and in his bed. The key to his memories is locked in a tortuous past. To reclaim the strength of their passionate bond, Max must learn to trust her enough to face that darkness at her side before the threat it hides exposes the secret Cee Cee carries.

Is never smooth.

When an investigation into grisly deaths in an underground Shifter fight club points to more than just dangerous clan rivalries, Cee Cee enlists Max’s help to find a traitor in their midst while there’s still time to turn a deadly invading tide. But the cost of saving their treasured future may mean sacrificing his past. Especially when the enemy they pursue . . . might be Max, himself.

“Every delicious word Nancy Gideon puts on the page exhilarates with a sensuous ferocity. Hopelessly addicted.” —Darynda Jones, NY Times Bestselling Author

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
A) I love a happy ending and, though they’d already been together in four “By Moonlight” books, my hero and heroine: deliciously dangerous shape-shifter Max Savoie and tough-as-nails New Orleans detective Charlotte Caissie, hadn’t gotten theirs. The series had spun off into the “Shadows” books which continued within the same paranormal world but had different main couples. Even though Max and Cee appeared and their story evolved, it hadn’t resolved the way readers wanted it to. So, with my first self-published book, REMEMBERED BY MOONLIGHT, I’m giving them the ending they’ve worked so hard to have and hold.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
A) I’d like to say it was a breeze, but I was surprised that it took a while to wrestle Max and Cee Cee back from fun supporting characters into the guiding focus of their own story. And, I must admit, being ADD, without a publisher deadline, I wasn’t driven to follow a schedule until I finally gave myself one, October 13, 2014 for a release day. Where I’d usually finish at least three books within a year’s time, this one ambled along for a year and a half while I worked on other projects until it finally caught its stride. A suggestion from a BETA reader opened my eyes to the problem – my hero wasn’t in control of the story. He was still acting like a secondary character! (Face palm!) After a flurry of rewrites and a few slaps to get him back in line, the story unfolded quickly and effortlessly in the final week. Just in the nick of time to make deadline. And I couldn’t be more proud of it.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
A) Plotting. I love to tell a tale. I’ve got at least three (or is it five?) multi-book series—suspense, YA and paranormal—just begging for me to look their way and start writing. Sigh. If only I didn’t have to work full time . . .

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
A) Not being able to devote all my time to those pleading storylines and whispering characters. But alas, one must shut down the computer at the most inopportune times to head for the 9-to-5.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
A) I have a mixer bottle way in the back I got to make Mudslide drinks for a critique group gathering I can’t remember how many years ago. It’s not bothering anybody and it was expensive! And it’s probably a solid by now.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
A) While I was tinkering with REMEMBERED BY MOONLIGHT for that year and a half, I was also busy getting the rights back to dozens of my out-of-print backlist books so I could get them back out to readers. I’ve contracted reissues with Belle Books for four contemporary romances under my pen name Dana Ransom to come out with their imprint Bell Bridge in 2014 (three are already available!) and in 2015, their imprint ImaJinn will be rereleasing my “Midnight” vampire romance series with all new packaging, including the first three books of the series which have looong been unavailable (like since the ‘90s!). They’ll come out one per month beginning in March, 2015 for nine consecutive months! I’m also planning to self-republish some of my western historicals. And I’m waiting to hear on a YA paranormal series proposal that with a NY publisher.

I’m also hosting my 4th Annual Haunted Open House and Blog Hop from Oct.27 to Oct 31 with special guests bestselling author Darynda Jones, editor Brenda Chin and tarot expert Arwen Lynch, and lots of giveaways! Check for deets on my blog.
