When we are inexplicably drawn to love and a particular place, is it coincidence, or have we loved before?

Enigmatic and spirited Anna Lucera is gifted with an uncanny sixth-sense and is intrigued by all things mystical. When her green, cat-eyes and long, black hair capture the attention of a young lawyer named Kevin Townsend, a romance ensues which leads them to the hauntingly beautiful region of California's Carmel-By-The-Sea where Anna is intuitively drawn to the Madiera Hotel. Everything about the hotel and Carmel-By-The-Sea heightens her senses and speaks to Anna as if she had been there before.

As Anna's memory unravels the puzzle, she is drawn into a past that's eerily familiar and a life she just may have lived before.

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
I've always loved the question of reincarnation and like to consider it from the interpretation of the Druids, who referred to reincarnation as "the transmigration of the soul," which puts it in a broader context. Still, when most people think of reincarnation, they think in terms of past lives they have lived. It was this subject as well as a trip my husband and I took to California's Monterey Peninsula where we stayed at an historic hotel that has a fascinating history. At one time, part of the hotel was a residence, and as we checked in, my eyes swept the foyer, piquing my imagination concerning the people who built the original house.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
Close to nine months.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
I love to re-write from a draft I've created. I like being satisfied I've created the bones of the story, then I set it aside and return to the draft with new eyes.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
I always begin the very first thing in the morning, coffee in hand. What I don't like is I tend to disregard my caffeine limits, which wires me! Just a bad habit, I suppose.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
I'd be a highly acclaimed singer/songwriter. Maybe someone like Dave Matthews.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
A container of Tamarind paste that has been there longer than I can recall.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
My novel, "Dancing to an Irish Reel" will be published in March of 2015. It is an entirely different genre ( it's fiction) that concerns a 25 year old woman who leaves the record business in Los Angeles and relocates to the west coast of Ireland where she falls in love with an Irish traditional musician who won't come closer nor completely go away! It is a fish-out-of-water story about the road to love in an incredibly beautiful place.
